Born and developed in Northen India, it is a form of Indian classical dance. Katha means story and Katthika means she who tells a story and thus the name Kathak. Katha kahe so Kathk means she who tells a story is Kathak.
The beauty of Kathak is that it is the only form of Indian classical dance that represents a strong synergy between Hindu and Muslim culture.

A seasoned Katthika and a senior disciple of Shambavi Dandekar. She has been actively practising the art of Kathak for more than fifteen years.
Her ever growing enthuasiasm and dedicatation has lead her into areas of therapeutic science. She is conducting dance therapy sessions with the help of Kathak for people with special requirement. Her work is starting to get attention from many institutes and universities.
